Quebec's produced film "Monsieur Lazhar" by Philippe Falardeau was selected one of the five best films of another language than English by the members of the Academy of Motion Picture of Arts and Sciences for a possibility of winning an Oscar for the best film in that category.
The 4 other films selected in nomination for that category are: Bullhead of Michael R. Roskam of Belgium, Une Separation of Asghar Farhadi from Iran, Footnote of Joseph Cedar (Israël) and In Darkness of Agnieszka Holland of Poland.
